Slow performance – Pix and WP Bakery

The Wheel-boys and Parts-boss (two WP website built with pix theme website have extremely slow page load speed. After some testing, it turns out it is the Time-To-First-Byte that is problem. We thought that it was caused by some plugins installed in that website, so we disabled all the plugins and activated them on at the time to see which one causes the problem.When disabled, the website loads almost instantly, as we activate plugins, there also wasn’t a significant slow down of the website. But as we enable the Pix Settings plugin, while the Landing page is not a lot slower than before, it did cause the Store page to be extremely slow (around 6 seconds to load).

We disabled Pix theme Pitstop (versioned at 1.) and continued activating other plugins. As we activate the WP Bakery Page Builder plugin (currently versioned at 7.7.2), the same thing happened, the site slows down significantly, for both Landing page and Store page this time (Around 6-8 seconds).The remaining plugins did not cause as much issue, so we believe it’s Pix theme Pitstop and WPBakery together that is causing slow performance. It is confirmed by the fact that when testing with webpagetest.org, the website with all plugins enabled TTFB takes around 15.3 sec, while when having the Pix Settings and WPBakery disabled, the TTFB is around 1.8 sec, an almost 14 sec difference.

The WP Bakery is outdated but comes pre-packaged with the theme. When we attempted to update the theme, only the version 1.1.3 was available (as oppose to 1.1.4 that was previously installed). How can we solve the issue?

1. What is the php version on your server?

2. How many products do you have?

I tested it on the demo content and Pix-Settings plugin and it does not affect the page loading speed. WP Bakery and WooCommerce have an impact, but the theme won’t work without them.

Can you give me the site url and admin access, I’ll check it.

We will also update the theme and plugins tomorrow. Upgrade and check on the latest version.

1. The php version is 8.3

2. Currently there are 739 products in Part-boss and 207 products in Wheel-boys.

Both websites have pix-settings with version 1.1.6 and there isn’t an update available so I assume it is the latest version.

Can you provide me the email which I should create the admin access for?
